PETITION TARGET: BC SPCA South Okanagan/Similkameen Branch and RCMP Penticton Detachment
Muzzled, tied to a tree on a short rope, and reportedly abandoned in the frigid wilderness of British Columbia, a helpless dog pulled desperately against their restraint, according to the BC SPCA. Unable to eat, drink, chew through the rope, or protect themselves, they were left to die — terrified, freezing, and alone.
Two hikers later discovered the dog’s lifeless body. While the remains resembled those of a German Shepherd, the level of decomposition was so advanced that authorities couldn’t determine the dog’s sex.
With no ID tags or microchip, there was no way to trace where the animal came from, and whoever left them to endure such horrific suffering has still not been identified.
Tethered in a remote area with no escape in the freezing cold, this dog likely spent their final moments suffering and afraid — discarded as if their life meant nothing.
Sign our petition urging authorities to thoroughly investigate and find whoever is responsible for abandoning this innocent dog.
The BC SPCA is asking for the public’s help to identify the dog and their guardian. If you have any information, please call the BC SPCA Animal Helpline at 1-855-622-7722.
