An innocent koala’s blood and fur left behind on a road in Victoria, Australia exposed horrific cruelty: A rope was allegedly tied around the animal’s neck and fastened to a vehicle, which then reportedly dragged the koala roughly 100 meters down a street, inflicting injuries so severe he had to be euthanized, according to People.
Following the incident, the severely battered koala was found callously dumped in a park and brought to a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center, where he was discovered with deep abrasions across his body, a jaw smashed to pieces, and blood gurgling from his mouth.
While a man has been arrested in connection with this tragic case, it is crucial that he is held fully accountable for the apparent, deliberate torture this innocent koala endured.
Sign our petition urging the Director of Public Prosecutions in Victoria to prosecute the individuals responsible to the fullest extent of the law — including mandating intensive psychological intervention and a ban on having animals.
