PETITION TARGET: Erie County District Attorney Elizabeth Hirz
As brutal sub-zero windchills swept through Erie, Pennsylvania, a six-month-old Siberian Husky named Aimee was found locked in a crate under a bridge, battling hypothermia, severe malnutrition, and frostbite on all four paws as she languished in her own waste, according to CBS Pittsburgh.
Although rescuers brought her to safety, Aimee’s battered body gave out before she could even make it to surgery, and sadly she died after going into cardiac arrest. The veterinarian who treated her reportedly said that Aimee had endured months of suffering.
Two suspects have been arrested in this disturbing case, and it is essential that they be held fully accountable to ensure that this puppy did not suffer in vain, and other vulnerable animals are protected from such harm.
Sign our petition urging the Erie County District Attorney to prosecute those responsible to the fullest extent of the law — including mandating intensive psychological intervention and a lifelong ban on having animals.
