PETITION TARGET: Los Angeles Police Department
Wild birds have been sporadically gunned down — their fragile bodies pierced, broken, and sent plummeting to the ground — in the residential neighborhood of Westchester in Los Angeles, according to local news.
Roughly 100 crows have allegedly been killed, along with federally protected hawks and other birds, in incidents that have spanned over the past several years. One resident believes the shootings have become more frequent, and it’s suspected that an Airsoft or pellet gun is being used to carry out the attacks.
The locals are understandably on edge, fearing more lives — human or animals — could be at risk.
“I think things do escalate over time,” a neighbor said. “My first worry, is it a pet next? How long before it hits children or one of us?”
This is a dangerous and growing threat. Without a prompt response, it may be only a matter of time before more living beings are injured or killed.
Sign our petition urging the Los Angeles Police Department to investigate this case thoroughly to locate those responsible and hold them accountable — before any other innocent animals, or people — are harmed.
