PETITION TARGET: The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office

Hypodermic needles, mold, mildew, drug paraphernalia, and exposed live wires near urine: nearly a dozen helpless dogs were kept in a house with these dangers in Centereach, New York, according to TBR News Media.

Eleven dogs were rescued, ten of whom were reportedly confined to a single room filled with these hazards. The ammonia, feces, and other toxic fumes in the air were reportedly so bad that investigators felt their eyes sting and struggled to even breathe while rescuing the dogs.

Dogs were covered in waste, ungroomed, and appeared to be in distress, according to the investigators. Rats were reportedly seen throughout the grotesque house. Some of the dogs were found suffering horrendously from fleas while others appeared malnourished.

Tragically, some of the dogs even appear to have been exposed to cocaine.

No dog deserves to be trapped in unlivable conditions, exposed to dangers like drugs, forced to breathe harmful fumes, malnourished, or denied medical care.

The house was later deemed “unfit for human occupancy,” according to TBR News Media. It is unconscionable to keep vulnerable animals in such neglectful conditions.

An arrest has been made – and it is crucial that anyone who forces dogs to suffer in such conditions  never be allowed to have animals again.

Sign our petition calling on Suffolk County District Attorney to treat this case with the severity it deserves, including a lifelong ban on having animals.
