Two dogs were brutally punched with the end of a broomstick while locked in an outdoor crate, according to 7News in Miami. In a previous incident, one was reportedly held off the ground and beaten so violently the dog’s cries could be heard from a block away.
In video footage that first appeared on social media, two dogs are confined to a crate on a porch in the Florida heat. One dog appears to be looking fearfully at the man standing over them. The man is gripping a broomstick with both hands. The man then repeatedly shoves the broomstick handle into the dogs. The dogs are struck over and over as they cry in despair.
Sadly, this is not the only instance of these dogs being harmed, according to the police.
A separate video, dated several weeks before this incident, appears to show the man striking a defenseless dog with a closed fist at least ten times, according to news. The helpless animal yelps in pain while suffering blow after relentless blow. The cries could be heard from over a block away.
A man has been arrested and charged with two counts of third-degree animal cruelty with intent to injure or kill. The dogs are now in the care of Miami-Dade Animal Services.
No animal deserves to be treated with such brutality — especially at the hands of their guardian.
