PETITION TARGET: Florida State Attorney

At least three dogs have died — two after suffering what appears to have been blunt force trauma and one after allegedly drowning in his own vomit — at a pet boarding facility, reported NBC 6 in South Florida.

The beloved companion animal victims include a Cavapoo named Beau, a Goldendoodle named Flurie, and a Flat Coat Retriever named Mako. The animals were reportedly healthy before arriving at Pawsitively Paradise, a pet boarding and training facility in Palm City, FL. Each dog died suddenly after being in the care of the facility owner, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).

The two-year-old puppy Beau appears to have suffered hemorrhage of the brain after being struck in the neck, stomach, genitals, and chest, according to ASPCA forensic experts. Flurie, a 15-year-old dog, also died after bleeding from the brain, according to the investigation.

Two-year-old Mako died years earlier: A private necropsy ordered by Mako’s family showed that the young retriever drowned to death in his own vomit.

“Forensic experts revealed that the dogs did not die quickly, instead they succumbed to long and painful deaths,” said MCSO.

The owner of the facility has been charged with animal cruelty. Since news of this investigation surfaced, multiple people have come forward with reports of their companion animals suddenly and mysteriously dying after being in Pawsitively Paradise’s care, according to MCSO.

Fortunately, the judge has prohibited the owner from having or caring for animals for the duration of the case proceedings.

These dogs allegedly endured extreme physical abuse leading to devastating deaths at a place where they should have been safe and cared for while awaiting the return of their guardian. Now, they will never see their families again.

Sign our petition urging the Florida State Attorney to prosecute this individual to the fullest extent of the law, including psychological counseling and a lifelong ban on having animals.
