PETITION TARGET: Illinois State Police
A horrifying video appears to show a dog being dragged for miles at highway speeds behind a minivan on Chicago’s Eisenhower Expressway, according to CBS News Chicago.
In the footage, the dog is seen tethered to the back of the vehicle, swinging across the hard pavement as their skin is likely being ripped off.
People honked, and a man in a nearby car shouted to get the driver’s attention, but the minivan didn’t stop. Despite the shocking scene, Illinois State Police stated that no one called 911 to report the incident.
The dog’s condition remains unknown, but after enduring such relentless and severe abuse, it seems unlikely that they survived.
While police have confirmed that an investigation is underway, there’s still no word on whether the driver has been identified or located.
Tethering a dog to a vehicle and dragging them for miles is unspeakably cruel — likely causing prolonged, excruciating pain and death.
Sign our petition urging the Illinois State Police to investigate this case thoroughly to locate those responsible and hold them accountable — before any other innocent animals are harmed.
