A chicken’s life ended in fear and agony in Palm Beach County, Florida, after a vehicle stopped at an intersection and its occupants allegedly got out, set the defenseless bird on fire, and drove away — leaving the animal to suffer unimaginable pain, according to local news.
Burning a chicken alive in public reveals a disturbing disregard for life, as if extreme cruelty toward a sentient being were acceptable and would go unanswered.
However, if something this horrific can happen in plain sight without consequences, it risks paving the way for more violence — against animals and humans alike.
Detectives are reportedly investigating the incident, but it’s critical that the case be handled with the seriousness it deserves to seek justice for this chicken and deter future cruelty.
