PETITION TARGET: Xie Feng, Ambassador of China to the United States

Cats in China are being force fed acid, burned alive, thrown from heights, and doused in boiling water for videos then posted online, according to news reports.

Earlier this year, a person in China reportedly bragged about butchering several cats and said that he planned to adopt more and live stream their deaths, according to an article on Vice. The man reportedly belonged to a group of cat torturers who used Chinese social media to compare notes on how to kill the felines for “fun,” according to news.

The atrocious discovery follows recent reports of other cat torture — including 80 innocent stray cats who were reportedly skinned, gutted, burned, and electrocuted alive on video at the hands of a university student in Shandong province who allegedly then sold the gruesome footage of his torturous acts online.

Unfortunately, the brutal torture and killing of cats for online views is still happening.

Disturbing, vile content showing cats being tortured and killed is available across several different websites, as well as on social media sites like Telegram, which means it’s accessible to a global audience, including children.

Other videos posted include ones showing cats boiled alive, burned, electrocuted, and placed in blenders or meat grinders, according to information reviewed by Lady Freethinker. Witnesses report seeing dozens of these groups on Telegram.

Cats are sensitive, intelligent animals who deserve respect and kindness. It’s crucial that this unfathomable torture and abuse ends immediately and that those responsible for the abuse are held accountable.

Sign our petition today to urge the ambassador to use his influence to push authorities to investigate and to push for legislation to stop the abuse from happening in the first place. Together, we can help stop the abuse for good!
