A cat with a broken jaw, a concussion, and a severely swollen eye — helpless and trapped in a plastic bag — was pulled from a car and shaken out of the bag into a dumpster on an evening in Laguna Hills, California, according to People.
Security footage then shows the apparently disoriented feline limping and unsteady atop the trash heap — falling over repeatedly — as the individual who discarded her gets in the car and pulls away.
The following day, the cat was rescued — mere minutes before the dumpster was due to be emptied.
She was taken to a vet where medical staff discovered the severity of the feline’s condition. Tragically, the injuries she suffered may leave her with lasting damage.
The suspect has since been charged with a felony count of animal cruelty and a misdemeanor for abandoning a domestic dog or cat.
This innocent cat was abused, cruelly tossed away like garbage, and left to suffer alone in a dumpster for 15 long hours. Had she not been found in time, she could have easily been crushed or suffocated when the dumpster was emptied.
Sign our petition urging the Orange County District Attorney to prosecute the individual responsible to the fullest extent of the law — including mandating intensive psychological intervention and a lifelong ban on having animals.
