PETITION TARGET: West Midlands Crown Prosecution Service
A helpless cat was allegedly flung over a bridge in St John’s, Worcester in England by a group of teenagers — in what appears to have been an intentional act of cruelty shared to social media, Worcester News reported. As the cat was thrown into the waters of the Laugherne Brook below, the sound of laughter could reportedly be heard in the background. The heartbreaking video then spread on Snapchat.
“The video was very graphic and horrible to watch and there’s no indication as to whether the cat survived,” Worcester City Councillor Richard Udall told Worcester News.
It’s horrific to imagine how terrified the cat in the video must have been. No animal deserves to be callously thrown from a bridge to their injury or death.
A 14-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of “causing unnecessary suffering to an animal,” as a West Mercia Police spokesperson told Worcester News.
Sign this petition to demand that prosecutors treat this case with the severity it deserves — including intensive psychological counseling for those responsible for the act of cruelty against this innocent cat.
