A sweet female dog abandoned on the side of a road was found with blood gushing from her neck in Lithia, Florida.
An employee on her way to a nearby elementary school discovered the brown and white dog, who had zip ties and electrical wire embedded into her neck, according to news reports. The dog, now named Harper, received medical treatment and is now recovering from her terrible lacerations.
It’s crucial that whoever committed this horrifying act is held fully accountable. The fact that this dog, who experienced brutal and intentional cruelty, was found so close to a location where vulnerable children congregate daily means prosecutors must treat this case with the severity it deserves to prevent any additional suffering to animals or children.
Sign our petition urging the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office to use all available resources to find the individual(s) responsible for this merciless cruelty, to pass on any relevant charges to a prosecutor, and to push for a maximum ban on owning or being around animals for anyone involved with this cruelty.
