PETITION TARGET: Hickman County District Attorney
Over a dozen animals were seized from a Hickman County, Tennessee home — some were malnourished, and some were already dead.
Images shared by the Hickman County Sheriff’s Office show a heartbreaking scene — dogs in small metal cages without beds, food or water. The cages are encrusted with rust and dirt, with one cage appearing too small for the dog inside.
According to the Sheriff’s office, the couple accused of the abuse was arrested and charged with 34 counts of aggravated animal cruelty.
“Thanks to the individuals who reported this information to us. Because you went above and beyond, these furry friends are now removed from that situation. A special thanks to Hickman County Humane Society and Horse Plus Humane Society out of Hohenwald for relocating the animals and providing care,” said the Hickman County Sheriff’s Office.
These animals deserve justice, and other animals deserve to be protected from a similarly tragic fate.
Sign our petition to urge the Hickman County District Attorney treat this case with the severity it deserves, including ensuring that the person(s) responsible for the cruelty receive a life-long ban from having animals.
