PETITION TARGET: Maricopa County Attorney’s Office

UPDATE (11/22/2023): A court has denied a request from the woman to have 13 dogs returned to her and also has issued an abandonment order for 34 other dogs who have been allowed to return to their previous rescues, according to news.  On November 14th, the accused was arrested again and is facing an additional 77 charges related to the alleged cruelty case, according to news.  We’ll keep watching and reporting on new developments. —Lady Freethinker Staff

Dozens of senior dogs with special needs were found severely neglected and five dead dogs were found inside a freezer at a reported animal “rescue” in Arizona, according to news.

Law enforcement who executed a search warrant following reports of alleged cruelty and awful smells discovered five dead puppies in a freezer and 55 others in such deplorable conditions that they were immediately confiscated and routed to an animal trauma hospital.  Five of the animals had to be euthanized because they were in such bad shape, according to news

The air quality in the home reportedly was so bad that firefighters had to wear special masks, and the house has since been condemned, news reported.

A woman has been charged with 55 counts of animal neglect and 55 counts of failing to provide needed medical care, all misdemeanors, as well as a felony count of vulnerable elder abuse, since the woman’s mother also reportedly was living in the home.

Unfortunately, the 50 surviving animals are now in limbo because the woman has legally petitioned to get 47 of them back. They will need to wait in a shelter, rather than go back to their former rescues or guardians, pending court proceedings.

This case must be treated with the severity it deserves.

Sign our petition urging the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office to fully investigate and pursue the animal cruelty and neglect charges for the individual(s) responsible for these reportedly deplorable conditions — including a maximum ban on working with or being around animals ever again.
