Swollen eyes, face riddled with cuts, and blood pouring from her nose and ears: This is how officers reportedly found a defenseless 10-week-old puppy in Live Oak, Florida after the tiny pup was allegedly stuffed in a blanket and brutally stomped on, kicked, and slammed into the ground, according to local news.
Police noticed the female puppy would cry out in pain each time someone touched her.
At the vet, a CT scan uncovered the devastating injuries: a broken skull, swelling in the brain, and a fractured nasal cavity. The skull fractures also left the puppy, now called Sweetpea, blind, and it’s unclear if she’ll be able to see again — or if her brain and body will ever fully recover.
The man allegedly responsible for inflicting this horrific abuse has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty.
At just ten weeks old, this innocent puppy should have been playing, exploring, and learning what it means to be loved — not clinging to life after a vicious attack.
Sign our petition urging the authorities to prosecute the individual responsible to the fullest extent of the law — including mandating intensive psychological intervention and a lifelong ban on having animals.
