PETITION TARGET: Boulder City Police Department (BCPD)
A puppy is slowly recovering after he was found abandoned in an alley at 10 weeks old and suffering from excruciating injuries that included “a dislocated jaw, eye and facial damage, and missing teeth,” according to a Boulder City Police Department (BCPD) press release.
A good Samaritan discovered the puppy, who is part Rottweiler, and called Boulder City Animal Control. Agents took the puppy to Boulder City Animal Hospital where veterinarians confirmed that the wounds were likely caused by humans.
The puppy — named “Seven” by Animal Control staff — has already had two surgical procedures. One of his eyes was so badly injured that it had to be removed.
Instead of chasing balls and playing tug of war, Seven has been recovering from multiple surgeries and the pain of being brutally beaten. No animal should go through the violent trauma that he has already had to overcome in his short life.
“The level of abuse this puppy received at the hands of a human is shocking to the conscious,” BCPD Detective Sergeant Tiffany Driscoll told FOX 5. “We hope someone will come forward with any information regarding the puppy’s caretakers, origins, or anything which could lead to an arrest and prosecution in this case.”
Thankfully, Seven is a fighter. Even though he will have more surgery in the future, Boulder City’s Facebook page says that he is “getting stronger.”
Police are still searching for a suspect, but Seven’s abuser should be charged with felony animal cruelty when they are found. Sign our petition urging BCPD to treat this case with the severity it deserves by thoroughly investigating and bringing the person responsible to justice.
Anyone with information about Seven’s case is asked to contact BCPD Detective Brett Wibrew at [email protected].
