In a horrifying act of cruelty, a man in Queensland, Australia burned his neighbor's cat alive by dousing the helpless animal in gasoline, then lighting her on fire.
The 62-year-old man seemingly planned the attack, setting a trap for the poor cat in the early hours of morning.
Badly burned and likely in unbearable pain, the cat ran home to her owner, who rushed her to the vet for treatment. But the burns were too severe, and sadly, the cat had to be euthanized.
Police have charged the perpetrator with serious animal cruelty, and he is due to appear in Innisfail Magistrates Court on September 18.
Sign the petition to urge the court to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law, and never allow this sick individual to keep any animal for the rest of his life.
