A woman from Los Angeles has been reunited with her cherished cat after losing her home in the Palisades Fire and believing she had lost her feline companion as well, according to the Daily Mail.

Katherine Kiefer spent two long months grieving for her Maine Coon, Aggie. Miraculously, volunteers clearing the aftermath of the fires found her — near starvation and frightened — in the rubble.

Aggie was taken to an emergency veterinary hospital, where she was finally reunited with her guardian. Footage shows Kiefer sobbing as the veterinarian brought Aggie into the room. Once she was able to hold her beloved feline, Kiefer was over the moon.

“It was Aggie, and she was just skin and bones but she was responsive and she recognized our voices,” Kiefer said. “And it was truly a miracle. I just couldn’t see how anybody could have survived. I don’t know what to say except that I just feel really, really lucky.”

Thankfully, Aggie is beginning to bounce back after receiving two blood transfusions.

Lady Freethinker is beyond happy to witness this remarkable reunion of a devoted guardian and her deeply loved animal companion and applauds all who facilitated this amazing rescue.
