Two horses named Mystic and Chief were reportedly targeted in pellet-gun attacks on consecutive nights at a property in Lafayette, Colorado — with Mystic shot once and Chief shot a horrifying 36 times, according to local news.
These vulnerable animals were left injured and likely terrified following these seemingly deliberate acts of violence, as though their lives and suffering meant nothing and inflicting pain on them was merely a form of amusement.
Unfortunately, no neighbors have reported hearing the shootings, and no surveillance footage captured what happened, making it especially urgent that authorities conduct a swift, thorough investigation to identify whoever was responsible and prevent further harm.
Sign our petition urging the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office to use every available resource to investigate these disturbing incidents, find the person or persons who hurt Mystic and Chief, and help bring them to justice.
