A tiny kitten in Fulton County, Georgia, is safe today after a determined animal services officer spent two hours rescuing the frightened little animal from a drainage system beneath the street.

Fulton County Animal Services’ Officer Eubanks responded to the call, peered into the dark, tight space with a cellphone flashlight, and used a leash to carefully coax the kitten out and lift them to safety.

It’s easy to imagine how scared that kitten must have been, alone and trapped underground. What could have been a heartbreaking story instead became a reminder that patience, persistence, and compassion can make all the difference for an animal in distress.
