PETITION TARGET: District Attorney for North Carolina’s 42nd Prosecutorial District
Two dogs in Henderson County, North Carolina, were allegedly abandoned inside a home for two weeks and found in a dangerously emaciated state — their bodies so depleted that their ribs, hips, and spines clearly protruded beneath their skin, according to local news.
The fear, hunger, and helplessness these dogs likely endured as they grew weaker day by day are both heartbreaking and unacceptable. With no apparent access to adequate nourishment or any clear chance of escape, they may have been left waiting desperately for help that never came — a devastating betrayal of trust.
While two suspects have been arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty, they must be held fully accountable to secure justice for these innocent dogs and help prevent future cruelty.
Sign our petition urging District Attorney Andrew Murray to prosecute the individuals responsible to the fullest extent of the law — including mandating intensive psychological intervention and a ban on having animals.
