PETITION TARGET: Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA) Humane Law Enforcement Division & Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia
A tiny dog named Apple narrowly survived a horrifying act of cruelty — she was allegedly thrown down a garbage chute at a Washington, D.C. apartment complex — left injured, starving, and unable to walk.
According to FOX 5 DC, someone discarded Apple — a severely neglected, malnourished dog with mobility issues — in the trash at an apartment building. Officers responding to a call discovered her in the chute, visibly traumatized and in desperate need of care.
No animal deserves to be starved, neglected, and discarded as trash. Apple deserves justice for the pain she endured.
Sign this petition to urge the Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA) Humane Law Enforcement division and the D.C. Attorney General to continue investigating, find the individual responsible for this cruelty, and hold them accountable to the highest extent of the law, including a lifetime ban on having animals.
If you have information about Apple’s case, call the HRA Humane Law Enforcement division at 202-723-5730, option 1. A $2,500 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
