PETITION TARGETS: Boston City Council and Mayor Michelle Wu
Shocked with electric prods, agitated with flank straps to make them buck, and jabbed with spurs as riders cling to their backs — these are all the ways bulls are tormented in bull-riding events.
These normally gentle animals endure lives filled with fear, suffering, severe injuries, and the loss of their dignity — all for fleeting entertainment. Outside the arena, their misery continues with long journeys in cramped, overheated trucks and trailers.
Despite this blatant cruelty, the Professional Bull Riders League has, for the first time in its 35-year history, scheduled a bull riding event in Boston, MA, where over 100 innocent bulls are set to be exploited at TD Garden on January 2–3, 2026.
Recognizing the inherent barbarity of rodeos, numerous cities, states, and countries have already outlawed or restricted these antiquated events — and it’s time for Boston to follow their lead.
Sign our petition urging Boston lawmakers to block the bull riding event at TD Garden and permanently ban rodeos in the city.
