In Chesterfield County, South Carolina, an innocent puppy named Nova was discovered abandoned and cruelly stuffed inside a trash bag beside a road—malnourished, frail, and barely clinging to life as she struggled for each breath, according to local news.
Although an officer rushed her to a vet to receive emergency treatment, her fragile little body was too broken to heal, and she sadly passed away. So far, no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the crime.
No animal should endure the neglect and helplessness this puppy likely experienced as she lay by the roadside, dumped like trash and left to die. Whoever is responsible for her suffering and death must be found before they have a chance to harm another vulnerable being.

A $1,900 reward is being offered by the Lancaster SPCA of South Carolina for information that leads to an arrest. Tips can be submitted anonymously to the Sheriff’s Office at 843-623-2101 or to the Lancaster SPCA of South Carolina.
UPDATE (10/22/2025): According to the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office, there are currently no new leads in Nova’s case, and investigators have exhausted their efforts unless new information emerges from the tip line.
