A black dog named Bob was cruelly body-slammed to the ground and punched in the face repeatedly while he was overheated in Lee County, Florida, according to news.
Bob was riding in a trailer behind a man on a bicycle before the man stopped, pulled the dog out of the trailer, and tightened a strap around his neck, according to a firefighter who witnessed the scene. The man then reportedly slammed the dog to the ground and punched him in the face at least twice before firefighters intervened, only to find that Bob was dangerously overheated.
Afraid that Bob might die of heat exhaustion, the firefighters doused the limp dog in ice before he was transported for emergency care at an animal hospital.
The man has since been charged with animal abuse, torture, and inflicting pain and serious physical injury on an animal.
This loving and loyal companion dog did not deserve to be brutally beaten and traumatized. It’s critical that whoever harmed him is held fully accountable.
Sign our petition urging Lee County prosecutors to take this cruelty case seriously, including fully pursuing the animal torture charge and also obtaining a maximum ban on owning animals for the individual(s) responsible.
