Please join Lady Freethinker for a week of action to urge the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to stop deadly wild horse helicopter roundups, where wild horses are chased into corrals by helicopters and are often injured, killed, or separated from their families in the process.
At the Antelope Complex roundup in Nevada, Lady Freethinker recently documented a horse who broke his leg and ran for nearly an hour before he was killed by wranglers. You can watch the heartbreaking footage here. Already 26 wild horses have died in the Antelope Complex as of Aug. 1, and the roundup is scheduled through Aug. 22.

Tuesday, August 8
- Respectfully comment on the Bureau of Land Management’s Facebook posts and Instagram posts asking them to ban helicopter-assisted roundups in the Antelope Complex and everywhere else immediately.
Wednesday, August 9
- Respectfully email the National Wild Horse & Burro Advisory Board at [email protected] and ask that they help save horses’ lives by doing everything in their power to oppose helicopter-assisted wild horse roundups. Feel free to use Lady Freethinker’s template email for reference here. - Post a photo of yourself on Facebook or Instagram with a sign that says “BLM: Stop Cruel Wild Horse Roundups NOW” and be sure to tag the Bureau of Land Management and Lady Freethinker (if we see that we’re tagged in your post we can reshare it on our story!) Remember that if you are posting to Instagram, your profile must be set to public for your photo to be viewable.
