A special prosecutor assigned by state Attorney General Lawrence Wasden filed the charge in Franklin County Court on Friday, June 1, 2018, bringing us one step closer to justice for this innocent puppy -- and sending a message to other would-be animal abusers that such behavior will not be tolerated.
In a shocking act of cruelty, a science teacher at Preston Junior High in Idaho reportedly fed a live puppy to a snapping turtle in front of students. According to witnesses, the puppy could be heard from across campus, screaming in terror as it was eaten alive.
"Allowing children to watch an innocent baby puppy scream because it is being fed to an animal. That is violence. That is not okay," said activist Jill Parrish, who filed a police report.
Yet despite having full knowledge of this horrifying incident, the school has yet to take any action against the teacher, Robert Crosland.
Teaching children to feed live animals to other animals is not acceptable, and this case clearly constitutes animal cruelty. Some people are defending the teacher's actions because the puppy was allegedly deformed and would have died anyway. But this is no excuse to condemn the defenseless puppy to torture and a painful death.
Animal cruelty does not belong in the education system, pure and simple. Sign this petition to urge the Preston School District to fire this teacher at once, and call for prosecution for this act of torture.
