A defenseless dog nearly starved to death after being abandoned on a balcony — reportedly for three weeks — without access to food, water, or shelter, in Harris County, Texas.
Responding to an abandoned dog call, Harris County Precinct 1 and the Houston SPCA found the dog emaciated and left on a balcony covered with trash and feces, according to Fox 26 and photos from the scene.
Authorities removed the dog from the third-story balcony with a seizure warrant and immediately rushed him to Houston SPCA to receive medical evaluation.
The investigation is ongoing, with charges to be forwarded to a prosecutor upon completion, according to news.
No innocent dog deserves to be cruelly abandoned. It’s critical that the person(s) responsible for abandoning this dog is held fully accountable and that this sweet dog finds a new, loving home.
