Sinbad, a nine-year-old Persian cat, shocked everyone at the shelter when he arrived so matted it looked like he was dragging a carpet behind his tiny body. The poor cat could barely move, he was so constricted by his own fur.

Staff at The Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago got to work and shaved off a whopping 5 pounds of fur — Sinbad was only 7 pounds, so he was carrying nearly his own weight in fur!

After his much-needed haircut, Sinbad was a whole new cat, able to move freely again.

Thank you, rescuers, for giving Sinbad the help he so badly needed!
