It’s not a magic trick, but it is a damn good idea. This pollution-clearing billboard sucks the smog right from the air, and turns it into clean, fresh goodness for all to breathe.
The billboard is the brainchild of engineering school UTEC in Lima Peru, and it helps neutralize grime floating from the city’s numerous construction sites. It has enough air-cleaning power to match the work of 12,000 trees. Impressive, no?
“Previously, the area around the construction sites was suffocating,” says one worker. Dust and chemicals permeated the air, adding to the already-way-too-high pollution levels of the city. And the billboard not only helps construction workers breathe easier, but it also makes the whole neighborhood’s air a little bit cleaner. So how do I get them to build one in Los Angeles?
