A 7-month-old puppy in Sterling, Virginia was viciously beaten by his owner with a baseball bat after the dog accidentally defecated in his crate.
A good Samaritan told Loudoun County Animal Services (LCAS) that owner Kevin R. Graves was abusing his dog, and Graves was arrested and charged with animal cruelty. The puppy survived the horrific beating, but has serious injuries on his head and neck.
“I think any abuse case we see with an animal is disturbing, it’s always more disturbing when it’s a violent crime that occurs,” LCAS Chief Mark Stacks told WTVR. “Nobody ever wants to hear that an animal is being struck with anything, let alone a baseball bat.”
The sweet dog is now in a foster home, where he has been given the name Sako. The people who are fostering little Sako are planning on putting him up for adoption after he has recovered from his injuries.
After all that he has been through, Sako is finally safe. But Graves inflicted unimaginable pain on an innocent puppy, and the court must take this case seriously.
Sign this petition to urge Loudon County district attorneys to prosecute Graves to the full extent of the law -- and to bar him from ever owning an animal again, so that no more dogs must suffer like Sako did.
