Trying desperately to pant in the brutal summer heat, a dog was found alone and distressed, tied to a pole near the library in Butte, Montana Friday. The dog's snout had been cruelly tied shut -- he could barely even breath, according to witnesses.
Two brave, compassionate little girls found the dog and untied him from the pole. Despite all that he'd been through, the dog was friendly and sweet.
Good Samaritan Art Mathias happened to be nearby; he cut the string from the poor dog's snout and attempted to locate the owner by calling the number on the dog's tags. Unable to reach anyone, he called Animal Control, and dog was brought to a shelter.
Tying a dog's snout shut and tethering them to a pole to bake in the sun is horrendously cruel, and the perpetrator must be held accountable.
Sign the petition to urge the Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement Department to track down the owner of this abused animal and file charges against whoever committed this cruel act.
