PETITION TARGET: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Animal Cruelty Task Force
Duct-taped at the paws and stuffed into a box, an innocent cat now named Gaia suffered tremendously after someone threw her out of a moving car in Los Angeles’s Highland Park neighborhood.
Local residents found the emaciated and flea-infested feline, and cameras in the area captured images of the box being held out of the sunroof of a two-door silver sedan, KTLA reported.
“My heart broke instantly,” local resident Angie Infante told KTLA. “The cat was alive but very mistreated, very skinny, flea-infested — it’s just sick.”
Infante and her partner have rescued the cat, whom they named Gaia. While she was found in a terrible state, Gaia is expected to fully recover.
We must prevent other animals from being mistreated like Gaia, or worse. Sign this petition urging the LAPD’s Animal Cruelty Task Force to fully investigate this crime and bring justice to Gaia.
