I’ve always wondered if plants can think. Obviously, flora lack brains, so they experience the world differently than we do. But still, they DO experience it. This video from ASAP Science offers a pretty amazing look into the “psyche” of flora. There’s fascinating stuff here: it turns out some plants even seem to have memory, altering their behavior based on past experiences. So while broccoli probably isn’t capable of solving algebraic equations, the term “vegetative state” may not be as accurate as we think!
Another fascinating fact is that trees exhibit social behavior, and even seem to act reciprocally with each other by exchanging nutrients. After watching this video, you’ll see that that plants are probably far more intelligent than we think.
