Hackers identifying themselves as part of activist group Anonymous (is that an oxymoron?) have breached a white-supremacy website, and left a message of equality. I’m not promoting hacking — but if you’re going to do it, this is the most awesome way.
White supremacists (or anyone else) who log on to the website Nationalist.org, the official site of the Nationalist Movement, will be greeted with the heading “Hitler Had One Testicle,” a logo saying “Good Night White Pride,” and some choice words about the ugliness of hatred. I don’t know how long the hacker handiwork will be up, but it’s pretty amusing.
[UPDATE: I tried to go to the Nationalist website, and got a message saying that the account had been suspended. Wonder what happened….]
Choice bits of the message state:
“Greetings, fellow Anons and Citizens of the world. It has come to our attention that Fascists and white power groups across the world are causing the spread of hate and ignorance.”
“We, as antifascists, and as Anonymous, refuse to give any quarter to fascists on our internet, as we have seen time and time again that they are like a plague, or a fungus, and when allowed to live in peace only multiply, and steal peace from those who would like to have no hatred for them. They spread their malice through children and adults alike.
“To counter this vile ideology, we present a quote from our own dear friend, and brother of Anarchaos, Jason Hammond:
‘Everyone deserves a fair opportunity to lead a good and meaningful life and at the moment we have a long way to go before this is achieved. Sometimes we cry, other times we rejoice, but we must rise to the challenge and work through these difficult endeavors to create a beautiful and free society.'”
The page even features a music video of Oi Polloi’s “Nazi Scum” (well, it’s really more of a still graphic reading “Nazi Scum Your Time Has Come” with the song playing in the background).
I don’t know much about the Nationalist Movement — and don’t care to delve into the online white-supremacy world to find out more — but their Wikipedia page says they’re based in Mississippi and have headquarters in Wisconsin. They fight for what they call a “majority-rule democracy” (although whites won’t be the majority much longer), and tried unsuccessfully to file for tax-exempt status in the late 80s.
